7. The Small Guild or St. John’s Guild
The Small Guild or St. John’s Guild is situated in front of the so-called Great Guild, on Amatu iela 5, where Riga’s craftsmen once used to gather. The building was built in 1864 – 1866 according to a design of an architect Johan Daniel Felsko (1813 - 1902). The “blossom” of ornamental decoration in the Small Guild’s interior is extraordinary stained glass that was made in 1888 – 1889 in Hanover according to the artist Freystadtl’s sketches.
