19. Riverside village of the Daugava
To the north-western part from Dannenstern House, in the neighbourhood of Peldu iela, in the 12th century there was situated the Riverside village of the Daugava. Judging by the data of archaeological excavations, it was inhabited by 'Courinised' Livonians who immigrated from North Kurzeme (Courland) to Riga.
