Medze is a small inhabited site 25 km north of Liepāja. It is near a unique natural object – the slope of the ancient Baltic ice lake.
Also worth visiting in Medze Parish is the Tāši (Telsen) manor ensemble with a park, a manor house built in the first half of the 18th century with unique baroque fireplaces (1731), a grand gantry (1731) and other interior features, as well as several farm buildings which after their restoration will be restored to their former glory.
Neighboring Vērgale Parish is home to an interesting architectural monument, Ziemupe Evangelical Lutheran Church. The church’s interior enriches the artistic history of Latvia with a 17th century altar, pulpit and rostrum which have not been studied much.
