Mērsrags is a sea skirted spit of land on the eastern shore of the Kurzeme Peninsula (about 42 km from Talsi). Mērsrags Beach has a large density of stones as far as Roja. The so-called Devil’s Stone near Mērsrags Lighthouse rises 1.5 m above the water level (50 m from the shore).
Mērsrags Lutheran Church was built by the Latvian craftsman Krišjānis Krūze in 1809. The structure was rebuilt in 1896.
